Clear rules for local work.
These controlled-testing terms describe YardNearby’s marketplace role, user responsibilities, direct payment, attendance rules, and service-concern process.
Controlled testing
YardNearby is currently available only for invited or approved testing. Features can change while testers evaluate sign-up, job posting, offers, messaging, schedules, notifications, reviews, support, and account controls. Real Reliability Commitment charges and public worker subscriptions remain disabled.
Marketplace role
YardNearby connects homeowners and renters requesting local physical services with independent handymen and businesses. YardNearby is not the employer, contractor, insurer, licensing authority, payment holder, or agent performing the work.
User responsibilities
Users must be at least 18, provide accurate account, job, credential, price, and scheduling information; communicate safely; obey applicable laws; respect property and other people; and keep accepted-job agreements in the app.
Worker qualifications
A “local helper” designation does not mean licensed, insured, or background checked. Business, license, and insurance marks are displayed only after the named review is completed. Users remain responsible for deciding whether a worker is appropriate and legally qualified for a job.
Direct job payment
Homeowners and workers choose and use their own payment method. YardNearby does not collect, hold, transfer, release, or refund money for the physical job. In-app paid and received buttons are shared status records only, not proof that YardNearby processed a transaction.
Reliability Commitment
A worker may be required to keep a payment method available for a $5 Reliability Commitment. A charge may occur only after a reported confirmed-time no-show is reviewed and the worker has an opportunity to respond or appeal. This testing release uses practice mode and cannot make a real charge.
Worker membership
After five mutually confirmed completed jobs, workers may need a $9.99 monthly plan to send new offers or publish new services. Existing jobs, messages, calendars, reviews, profiles, and safety tools remain accessible. During controlled testing, membership setup is simulated and cannot make a real charge.
Safety, concerns, and removal
YardNearby may review service and safety concerns, suspend new-work access, remove fraudulent or abusive content, preserve evidence, and cooperate with lawful requests. YardNearby does not decide direct-payment refunds. Users should contact emergency services—not app support—when anyone faces immediate danger.
Account controls
Users can export their information, block another user, report content, and request account deletion. Testers who cannot access the app can use the public deletion form. Requests require ownership verification before data is removed.
