Your information should have a clear purpose.
This controlled-testing policy explains what YardNearby collects, why it is needed, who processes it, and the controls available inside the app.
Information we collect
Account information includes your name, email, chosen account type, service area, profile details, and connected public profile information you choose to import. Job information includes descriptions, approximate location, exact address, photos, optional videos up to 30 seconds with audio, schedules, offers, messages, completion records, reviews, service concerns, and direct-payment status confirmations.
Workers may voluntarily submit private license and insurance documents. YardNearby stores their review status, while the document itself remains in private file storage.
Location and address privacy
Open listings display only an approximate job position and general street or area. A user’s current-location pin is not shown to other users. The exact job address becomes available only to the homeowner or renter and the accepted worker. YardNearby does not sell precise address information.
Payments
YardNearby does not collect or transfer physical-service job payments. During controlled testing, Reliability Commitment and membership setup are practice features only. If enabled for a future public release, a payment provider would process the payment details and YardNearby would not store complete card numbers.
How information is used
- Authenticate accounts and protect private records.
- Match local jobs with workers and manage offers.
- Coordinate schedules, messages, direct-payment status, notifications, and reviews.
- Investigate fraud, safety reports, service concerns, and policy violations.
- Meet legal, security, and account-deletion obligations.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, download your account data, change notifications, disconnect optional public profiles, or request permanent account deletion inside the app. Active jobs and service concerns must be completed first. Certain completed safety and account records may be retained where required for fraud prevention or legal obligations; retained records are separated from your public identity when possible.
Service providers and retention
YardNearby uses Supabase for authentication; Google for address and map services; Apple and Google for app distribution and device services; Meta for optional Facebook sign-in; and infrastructure providers for databases, private uploads, and notifications. Deletion requests are verified before removal. Public profile and account data are removed from active systems after verification and resolution of open jobs; backup copies may remain for up to 90 days. Safety, fraud-prevention, and legal records may be kept longer when reasonably necessary.
